If you’re on the hunt for the perfect spot to enjoy a cheeky pint (and maybe some tasty fish and chips), it’s pretty hard to beat a seat at one of the Gold Coast’s huge array of Surf Life Saving Clubs.
Not only are they a true hub of local community life, but they also offer some of the most captivating views of our stunning, endless coastline.
With that said, here are our picks for those wanting to Dine at 9 of the Gold Coast’s Best Surf Clubs in 2025.
Mermaid Beach AEME Surf Life Saving Club
Many surf clubs across Australia don’t typically have a great rap when it comes to food. But without any hesitation, Mermaid Beach AEME SLSC knows exactly what we want when it comes to curating a strong bistro menu. Not only that, but the view over Mermaid’s beachfront is dazzling, with plenty of people-watching on Hedges Avenue beneath the balcony area.

Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club
An upper and lower level dining spot nestled in prime beach-side position, Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club is hands-down one of the most iconic on the Gold Coast, formally founded all the way back in 1923! It’s a community hub, a local meeting place, an accomplished surf club, and an all-round great dining experience. We highly recommend you see for yourself why this surf club has stood the test of time.

Kurrawa Surf Club
Enviable beachside positioning, Kurrawa Surf Club makes the most of its upper deck views that span from the towers of Surfer’s Paradise all the way through to Broadbeach’s impeccable waves. Have a pizza, parmi, pasta, paella, dahl, steak or something else – this surf club restaurant has an expansive menu covering a variety of different international cuisines.

Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Life Saving Club
Boasting (in our opinion) the best view of any Gold Coast surf life saving club, Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Club is located on the sand. That’s right, not adjacent to the footpath or across the road like most others – it’s right on the beach! And better yet, it’s directly next to Elephant Rock if you’re keen for a walk after tasting contemporary Australian cuisine.

Rainbow Bay Surf Club
Home to one of the world’s most famous surf breaks, ‘the Superbank’, Rainbow Bay Surf Club is consistently solid when it comes to its dining offerings. Not only that, but the ocean deck overlooking the bay is the perfect place to watch the huge numbers of surfers that descend on Snapper’s long, consistent waves, and an even better spot to watch the Gold Coast sunset.

North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club
For a choice of different eateries all under the one roof, North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club is the place to be. Grab an early-morning hot or cool drink from hole-in-the-wall-cafe Nectar Espresso; munch on a surf-and-turf-style lunch coupled with a beer or cocktail; or watch the sun fade during a classy dining experience with 180-degree views of the coast at Sandfire.

BMD Northcliffe Surf Club
Offering all the good things most Gold Coast SLSC have – a 180-degree ocean view, a top-level bistro menu, and refreshing on-tap beer – the BMD Northcliffe Surf Life Saving Club in Surfers Paradise is a pleasantly upscale dining experience. Not only does it boast an award-winning restaurant, its sunshine-filled dining area is also a pretty nice place to spend some time.

Nobby’s Beach Surf Life Saving Club
A local favourite for its diverse bistro menu, regular live music events, 180-degree ocean views, and a seriously solid range of on-tap beer and wine selection – Nobby’s Beach SLSC is an experience to be had. Like most other surf clubs, Nobby’s has direct beach access, perfect for an after-work dip followed by a delectable dinner. We recommend viewing their Instagram before heading down to see what events are on!

Palm Beach Surf Club
Mmm… dining al-fresco with beachfront views, live music and delicious cocktails – what more could you want? Palm Beach Surf Club is an ideal dinner and drinks spot overlooking the coast. Depending on what time of year you’re heading down to this gem, you may catch a glimpse of a migrating whale! There in the morning? Grab a coffee from Jefferson, a delightful coffee nook on the ground floor.
